DS575

DS575 | Flush Pull Handle

This product is not available for online purchase.

The DS575 is Doric’s architectural flush pull handle for aluminium sliding doors and windows — a recessed pull handle engineered to sit near-flush with the extrusion, projecting only 2mm from the door face.

Specified by fabricators, builders, and project specifiers where protruding hardware conflicts with blind pockets, panel stacking, or tight cavity slider configurations, the DS575 delivers a low-profile door hardware solution that integrates cleanly into aluminium frames without compromising grip, durability, or finish quality.

Product Description

Application & Project Fit

The DS575 suits aluminium sliding door frames and sliding windows across residential, medium-density, and commercial projects — both as a primary specification on new builds and as a direct flush pull handle replacement on existing aluminium door systems. Its recessed profile makes it the specification of choice where standard protruding handles are not viable: cavity sliders, stacked panel configurations, and window applications where frame clearance is limited.

Available in two variants to match project material requirements:

  • DS575 — Aluminium body with powder coat finish, standard colour Satin Black
  • DS575SS — 316 Stainless steel body with satin stainless steel finish, specified for coastal, marine, and high-humidity environments

Custom powder coat colours are available on request for Trade Account holders, enabling the DS575 to be matched precisely to project colour schedules and façade requirements — a critical specification capability for projects with defined hardware colour palettes.

Dimensions & Installation Compatibility

At 195mm in length, the DS575 provides a full-length grip surface across the recess. The 2mm projection from the extrusion surface ensures clearance compatibility with blind pockets, curtain tracks, and stacked panel systems — the practical constraint that makes a recessed sliding door handle the correct specification in these configurations, and where a protruding handle creates an obstruction or operational problem.

For fabricators and installers running volume programs, the DS575’s standard dimensions and straightforward fitment process reduce installation time per unit. Replacement installations on existing aluminium door frames are equally straightforward — the DS575 suits direct retrofit across a wide range of standard Australian aluminium extrusion profiles without frame modification.

Standalone Use — Sliding Doors & Windows

The DS575 functions as a complete sliding door grip handle without a lock body. For internal sliding doors, sliding windows, cavity sliders, and non-locking applications where a clean, low-profile pull is the requirement, the DS575 operates as a standalone flush mounted door handle — no cylinder, no lock body, no escutcheon required.

This makes it equally suited to window fabricators specifying a slimline pull handle across aluminium sliding window systems, and to builders or strata managers sourcing a flush pull handle replacement for an existing installation where the original handle has failed or requires upgrading.

Kitted with the DN1290 — A Complete Sliding Door Lock Set

Where keyed security is required, the DS575 is designed to kit directly with the DN1290 Aluminium mortice lock body, available in 30mm backset (DN1290/30) or 40mm backset (DN1290/40), forming a complete patio door handle and lock combination for aluminium sliding doors.

The DN1290 lock body features twin counteracting beaks that engage an all-metal catch plate — providing active resistance to jimmying and physically restraining the door against being lifted externally from its rails. For ground-floor entries, accessible entry points, and any sliding glass door application where security performance is a specification requirement, this is a substantively stronger outcome than a standard latch configuration.

A catch plate drilling jig is included with the DN1290 kit, enabling precise catch plate placement across volume installations — reducing fitment time per unit and eliminating alignment variance on multi-dwelling programs where consistency is critical.

The kit is completed with:

  • Standard or Slimline keeper — to suit frame depth and project preference
  • DS1255 square escutcheon — providing a clean, flush finish around the cylinder face on keyed configurations

Compatible cylinders: DS197, DS202, DS250, and DS1272.

Material & Finish — Specifying for the Environment

Aluminium with powder coat (DS575 — Satin Black standard): The correct specification for the full range of Australian residential and commercial environments. Powder coat finish provides durable colour retention and surface resistance across high-traffic door applications. Custom powder coat colours available for Trade Account holders.

316 Stainless steel with satin finish (DS575SS): Specified where the project environment demands it — coastal, marine, and tropical climates where salt air, moisture, and humidity accelerate hardware degradation. Specifying below-grade materials in these environments creates callback exposure and warranty liability that outweighs any short-term cost difference. The DS575SS eliminates that risk. 316 grade stainless steel is the recognised benchmark for exterior hardware performance in demanding Australian conditions.

Both variants are manufactured to Doric’s dimensional and surface finish standards, ensuring consistent fitment and appearance across an entire hardware schedule.

Frequently Asked Question

What sliding doors and windows is the DS575 compatible with?

The DS575 is designed for aluminium sliding door frames and sliding windows. It suits a wide range of standard Australian aluminium extrusion profiles used in residential and commercial construction, including direct replacement on existing installations.

What is the difference between the DS575 and DS575SS?

The DS575 is an aluminium body with a powder coat finish in Satin Black, suited to most Australian residential and commercial environments. The DS575SS is manufactured from 316 stainless steel with a satin finish and is specified for coastal, marine, and high-humidity environments where corrosion resistance is a project requirement.

Can the DS575 be used without a lock body?

Yes. The DS575 operates as a standalone recessed pull handle with no lock body, cylinder, or escutcheon required — suitable for internal sliding doors, sliding windows, cavity sliders, and any non-locking application where a clean, low-profile flush handle is the requirement.

Can the DS575 be paired with a lock body?

Yes. The DS575 kits with the DN1290 Aluminium mortice lock body, available in 30mm (DN1290/30) or 40mm (DN1290/40) backset. This creates a complete flush pull handle and lock combination for sliding doors requiring keyed security. Compatible cylinders include the DS197, DS202, DS250, and DS1272.

How far does the DS575 protrude from the door face?

The DS575 raises only 2mm from the extrusion — ensuring clearance compatibility with blind pockets, curtain tracks, and stacked door panel configurations where protruding handles are not viable.

What colours are available?

The DS575 aluminium variant is available in Satin Black as standard. Custom powder coat colours are available on request for Trade Account holders. The DS575SS stainless steel variant is supplied in satin stainless steel finish.

Is the DS575 suitable as a direct replacement for an existing flush pull handle?

Yes. The DS575 suits replacement installations across a wide range of existing aluminium sliding door and window systems. Contact Doric to confirm compatibility with your specific door profile before ordering.

Are custom powder coat colours available?

Yes, custom powder coat finishes are available on request for Trade Account holders, enabling the DS575 to be specified to match project colour schedules or façade requirements.

Is this product available for online purchase?

The DS575 is not available for direct online purchase. Contact Doric’s team via the Enquire button to discuss project requirements, volume supply, and lead times.

What escutcheon is recommended for keyed configurations?

The DS1255 square escutcheon is recommended, providing a clean, flush finish around the cylinder face on installations using the DN1290 lock body kit.
