DS1269 | HD Single Point Mortice Lock
$153.88 inc. GST
The DS1269 is Doric’s heavy-duty single-point mortice lock for entrance doors — a reversible brass latch paired with a steel deadbolt in a single lock body, built for both aluminium and timber door frames on a 30mm backset.
It’s the standard-duty specification for entrance doors where a reliable latch-and-deadbolt combination is all a project requires — established housing stock, standard residential entries, and any opening where multi-point engagement isn’t a specified requirement. Because the DS1269 suits both aluminium and timber, it drops into a wider range of existing door preparations without forcing a change of door material or frame.
Product Description
Application & Project Fit
The DS1269 suits aluminium and timber entrance doors — a genuine point of difference from lock bodies restricted to a single door material. It’s specified as the standard-duty option wherever a project needs a reliable, keyed latch-and-deadbolt lock without the added twin locking rods of a multi-point specification.
If a project calls for stronger resistance to forced entry — ground-floor entries, high-traffic multi-residential doors, or any opening where prying/jimmying resistance is a specified requirement — the DS1273 HD Multi-Point Mortice Lock adds twin stainless steel locking rods to the same latch-and-deadbolt platform. See Choosing the Right Lock below.
How It Works
The latch hub retracts the latchbolt via a spindle fitted to the door furniture or handles — day-to-day operation doesn’t involve the key at all. The key throws and retracts the deadbolt via a fixed-cam Euro cylinder, and the same key also retracts the latch when the door needs to be opened from the keyed side without using the handle.
Choosing the Right Lock: DS1269 vs. DS1273
Doric offers this lock body in two configurations:
- DS1269 (this product) — single-point, 2-point engagement (latch, deadbolt only). Specify for standard entrance security on aluminium or timber doors.
- DS1273 — multi-point, 3-point engagement (latch, deadbolt, twin stainless steel locking rods). Specify where added resistance to forced entry is a project requirement.
Both share the same 30mm backset and Euro-cylinder platform, so moving between them doesn’t change the rest of the door hardware specification.
Dimensions & Door Compatibility
- Backset: 30mm
- Face plate: satin stainless steel, narrow 24mm x 290mm
Note the faceplate is 24mm wide on the DS1269, versus 21mm on the DS1273 — confirm door prep/cut-out dimensions against the correct SKU before specifying, as the two are not interchangeable at the cut-out stage.
Cylinder & Strike Plate Options
Standard cylinder: DS1272 Euro cylinder, 5 pin, C4, fixed drive cam. Optional cylinders:
- DS1266 — Euro cylinder, 5 pin, C4, fixed drive cam and inside turn
- DS197 — Euro cylinder, 5 pin, C4, fixed drive cam
- DS202 — Euro cylinder, 5 pin, C4, fixed drive cam and inside turn
Standard strike plate: DS1277 Narrow Stainless Strike Plate. Optional strikes: Small, Medium, Long, and Long Lip, to suit different frame configurations.
Material & Finish
The latchbolt is reversible brass, chrome plated. The deadbolt is chrome-plated steel with a hardened steel middle plate. The faceplate is satin stainless steel — finished for corrosion and wear resistance on a high-touch entrance point.

Frequently Asked Question
What’s the difference between the DS1269 and the DS1273?
The DS1269 is the single-point version of this lock body, with a latch and deadbolt only. The DS1273 is the multi-point version, adding two stainless steel locking rods for extra resistance to forced entry. Both share the same 30mm backset and cylinder platform — choose DS1269 for standard entrance security, and DS1273 where added security is a project requirement.
Is the DS1269 suitable for both aluminium and timber doors?
Yes. The DS1269 is designed to suit both aluminium and timber entrance doors, which is a point of difference from lock bodies limited to a single door material.
What backset does the DS1269 use?
30mm — the same backset as the DS1273, so the two lock bodies can be specified interchangeably without changing door prep at the backset.
Which cylinders are compatible with the DS1269?
The standard cylinder is the DS1272 (5 pin, C4, fixed drive cam). Optional cylinders include the DS1266 (with inside turn), DS197, and DS202.
What strike plates are available for the DS1269?
The standard strike is the DS1277 Narrow Stainless Strike Plate. Small, Medium, Long, and Long Lip strikes are also available to suit different frame configurations.
Can I order the DS1269 as a lockbody only, without a cylinder?
Yes. Order as DS1269/[Finish] for a lockbody only, using order code 9016160.
How does the DS1269’s latch and deadbolt function work?
The latch hub retracts the latchbolt via a spindle fitted to the door handles for everyday use. The key throws and retracts the deadbolt via the fixed-cam Euro cylinder, and the same key also retracts the latch.
